The Shoppe offers the ultimate in cupcakes

If you aren’t stuffing your face, you’re not eating it right!

The Shoppe (3103 East Colfax) gives an entirely new meaning to the term “midnight snack.” On Saturdays, at 12 a.m., put down your pillow and venture to get a bellyfull of cupcakes at half price–normal price for a jumbo is $4, so just imagine how lovely a $2 giant cupcake feels to your wallet. Since the Shoppe isn’t open on Sundays, it is our duty as cupcake lovers to buy all of their cupcakes lest they get thrown away.

This bakery is a cupcake lover’s (or cereal lover’s) dream. With flavors like the all-powerful Nutella and the ever-reliable red velvet, the Shoppe baking master, Emma Rose, masters the perfect combination of sweet, moist cake and high-piled buttercream (or cream cheese) frosting–all while managing to make their cupcakes look like little pieces of delectable art. I love this place for the mere fact that they know how to design a cupcake that looks like it belongs in a cupcake version of the Louvre. The Shoppe even has their own wall dedicated to cupcake art.

They also love to experiment with flavors like Rocky Road and Pineapple Happiness. If you have any ounce of dignity, you must check out (and sample) all of their amazing flavors. So, when the munchies get you at the crack of dawn, the Shoppe is there to give you sweet dreams.
